Broken Age: An adventure worth waiting for

Broken Age hearkens back to a gentler time in video game history. A time when the size of your clever insults was more important than the size of your broadsword, when action scenes were limited to the refresh rates of VGA monitors. This hearkening might be to a time that never really existed, but if it did, that time was 1993, when the best-selling video game was the gently baffling Myst, and when the releases of Day of the Tentacle and Sam and Max Hit the Road marked the high-water point of Lucasarts point-and-click adventure games. Broken Age recalls the highlights of those games without aping them, celebrating rather than transcending its niche genre. It will be a joy to play for anyone with fond memories of Monkey Island, and for anyone else it could work as an excellent introduction to the genre.
